UPDATE: The Joshua J. Richards Charitable Foundation has been established in the State of WI as a not-for-profit organization! Our mission is to promote awareness and funding for the Organ Donor Program and assist children between the ages of 5-18 years of age in NE WI participate in sports and other extra curricular events.
The 1st Annual Joshua Richards Foundation Hit or Whiff Golf Outing is scheduled on June 12, 2014 at Mid Vallee Golf Course in DePere. We are currently seeking sponsorships and auction items for the event. Please email the email@example.com for more information.
Vibrant, selfless, funny, and full of life are a few words many friends used after Joshua J. Richards was killed by a stranger at age 25, December 8, 2013. Josh did everything right, including frequently donating to the American Red Cross and his final gift of organ donation. This final gift saved seven individuals.
Josh loved playing football and after an injury in 2012, was unable to continue to play, so he shifted his energy to body building. Josh loved children and encouraged his nephews, niece and other kids to live well, do the right things to others and live life to the fullest. He sent this message by spending time with kids and encouraging them to participate in sports.
Given Josh’s vibrant life, spirit of giving, love of children and his belief in having a healthy lifestyle, friends and family decided to start a memorial fund in his name. Funds will be given to applicant families that need assistance to participate in sporting and other extracurricular events. Our initial focus area is in Northeast WI, where Josh grew up. Children in the program will have to agree to living well, do their best in school, to never commit a crime against another person and to try to pass it on in the future.
This effort will allow Josh’s memory and generous spirit live on through the children we hope to help for many years to come.
We thank you for your donations in his honor.
